Turkish flintlock “Kurber” or “Horse Pistol”, ca. late 18th century.  Overall length: 20 ½”.  Turkish 13 ½” forged, 2-stage, tapered .60 cal. barrel flared slightly at the muzzle. Some decorative engraving including Islamic maker’s name at the breech. Hand forged and engraved Turkish lock. Full length stock profusely relief carved and inlaid with both silver and brass wire in typical Islamic decorative patterns. False ramrod and steel ramrod pipes. Brass mounts. Overall a nice authentic “Kurber” in fine original condition.
